Instrumentation & Control Design Services

We provide end-to-end Instrumentation & Control (I&C) engineering design services for greenfield, brownfield, and modification projects across Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, and Process Industries. Our designs comply with international standards (IEC, ISA, API, NFPA, ATEX) and are developed to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Instrumentation & Control Design Basis

Preparation of a comprehensive Design Basis document defining project philosophy, applicable codes and standards, hazardous area classification, control system architecture, instrument selection criteria, redundancy philosophy, and safety requirements. This document serves as the foundation for all downstream I&C engineering activities.

Instrumentation & Control Site Survey / Verification Report

Detailed field surveys and as-built verification to validate existing instruments, cabling, junction boxes, control panels, and interfaces. We identify gaps between drawings and site conditions and issue verification reports to support brownfield modifications and revamp projects.

Instrument Index

Development and maintenance of a complete Instrument Index, including tag numbers, service description, instrument type, range, material, hazardous area classification, and interface details. The index ensures consistency across all engineering deliverables and project disciplines.

Specification for Integrated Control & Safety System (ICSS) Modification

Preparation of ICSS modification specifications covering DCS, SIS, F&G integration, system expansion, controller upgrades, network architecture, cybersecurity considerations, and testing requirements to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.

Specification for Machine Monitoring System (MMS) Modification

Engineering specifications for Machine Monitoring Systems, including vibration, speed, and condition monitoring systems. Scope includes sensor selection, panel modifications, system architecture, data integration with ICSS, and alarm/trip philosophy.

Instrumentation & F&G Bulk MTO

Development of Material Take-Off (MTO) for instrumentation and Fire & Gas systems, including field instruments, valves, tubing, fittings, junction boxes, cables, and accessories to support procurement and cost estimation.

Junction Box Schedule

Detailed JB schedules defining tag numbers, type, enclosure class, number of terminals, cable entries, hazardous area rating, and associated instruments for accurate installation and wiring.

Cable Schedule

Preparation of instrument cable schedules detailing cable type, size, core configuration, routing, length, termination points, and segregation requirements in compliance with project standards.

Cable Drum Schedule

Cable drum schedules identifying drum numbers, cable lengths, cable types, and installation routes, supporting site logistics and efficient cable laying activities.

I/O List

Development of Input/Output (I/O) Lists defining signal types, ranges, control system allocation, marshalling details, and interface with DCS, SIS, F&G, and MMS systems.

Alarm & Trip Schedule

Preparation of Alarm and Trip Schedules defining alarm limits, priorities, trip set points, cause & effect references, and operator actions in line with alarm management best practices.

Hook-Up Drawings

We develop detailed hook-up drawings to ensure correct installation and maintenance:

Process Hook-Up Drawings

Electrical Hook-Up Drawings

Pneumatic Hook-Up Drawings

Field Instrument Mounting Hook-Up Drawings

Each drawing includes tubing details, fittings, impulse lines, power connections, earthing, and mounting arrangements.

ICSS Architecture Diagram

Preparation of ICSS architecture diagrams showing system topology, controllers, servers, networks, redundancy, interfaces with third-party systems, and field instrumentation.

MCB Layout

Design of MCB and distribution layouts, including load segregation, protection philosophy, panel arrangement, and cable termination details.

Satellite Instrument House

Engineering design for Satellite Instrument Houses (SIH) including layout, equipment arrangement, HVAC considerations, power distribution, earthing, and interface with central control systems.

Wiring Diagrams

Preparation of detailed wiring diagrams for panels, junction boxes, marshalling cabinets, and field instruments, ensuring clarity for installation and troubleshooting.

Cable Block Diagrams

High-level cable block diagrams showing interconnections between field instruments, JBs, panels, and control systems for overall system understanding.

Loop Diagrams

Development of instrument loop diagrams for all analog, digital, and communication loops, covering power supply, signal flow, terminations, and fail-safe philosophy.

Instrument Cable Routing Layouts

Overall Instrument Cable Routing Layout

These drawings define tray routing, segregation, crossings, and interfaces with other disciplines.

Instrument Location Layouts

Preparation of instrument location layouts indicating exact field instrument positioning, elevation, accessibility, and maintenance clearances.

We deliver area-wise I&C engineering packages, including:
